Haiti Earthquake - January 2010
Steve Neill, President of CoAid visited Haiti in January to see for himself the destruction left by the devastating 7.0 magnitude earthquake. Here are some of the photos he took during his 4 day needs assessment visit.
CoAid had 3 goals for the visit, which were:
- Get a sense of the geography, climate and feel of Haiti.
- Meet a Haitian contact who CoAid can work with.
- Determine the most pressing need and start to respond to it.
We're pleased that all 3 goals were met. We gained a good sense of the land, met an excellent contact who is well connected with other reputable ministries, and determined the most pressing need is for shelter materials. With the rainy season about to start within a few weeks, we are in a hurry to ship a supply of waterproof tarps as soon as possible. Please help us by making a contribution of any amount to our Haiti Earthquake Appeal.
