Haiti Housing Appeal

You can help us find safe housing for vulnerable women, children, the elderly and disabled in Haiti...
In association with Samaritans Purse and Promised Provision Ministries, CoAid is helping to provide temporary homes for victims of the recent earthquake to live in until more permanent accommodation becomes available.
We are leasing land for the construction of small transitional shelters to be built by Samaritans Purse. The agreement we have with Samaritans Purse is that if we lease the land, they will build the houses on it.
It costs $1 per month per family to provide a safe place to live. That's only $12 per year for a family to live on our leased land with all the amenities they need.
The majority of the beneficiaries of these temporary shelters are single mothers, elderly and disabled people. Each community where they are located has clean water, proper sanitation facilities, security, and designated play areas for the children.
Many of the beneficiaries have said that, in addition to having a sound roof over their heads and being protected from the elements, they are also thrilled to be away from the filth and rampant crime of the tent cities.
Please support a family who lost their home in the recent earthquake by donating $12 to our Haiti Housing Appeal. All donations are tax deductible.
The situation for people living around Leogane is terrible...
The Haiti co-ordinator for Promised Provision Ministries, Roody Joseph told us, "I'm pretty accustomed to seeing horrifying living conditions, and poverty-driven illness and even death, but as I surveyed this area, what I witnessed there brought me to tears. Children are sick with fevers, pink eye, sores, etc. People are unable to find a dry place to escape the torrential rain, standing water makes it impossible for some people to even sit down or sleep under their tarps because their tarps are disintegrating under months of direct sunlight and heat."
Thank you for your generosity as we seek to serve the poor and vulnerable in Haiti.
God bless you,

Steve Neill
