CoAid delivers in Haiti
When Haiti was devastated by the earthquake of January 2010 the healthcare community responded in mass, with orthopedic surgeons leading ghe charge in many respects. However, one of the limiting factors in an effective emergency medical response in the underdeveloped countries is that of sterilization capability. This restraining issue was attended to recently when Hope Force International partnered with CoAid to deliver a desperately needed autoclave to Adventist Hospital in Port au Prince, Haiti.
Jack Minton, President of Hope Force International, recently visited the hospital to see first hand the benefits of the donation. Dr Scott Nelson of CURE is overseeing the orthopedic response of Adventist Hospital; one of the few facilities now able to deal with a broad range of orthopedic needs. Dr Nelson expressed his deep gratitude to those who made this incredible gift possible. The autoclave greatly enhances the wonderful work of mercy and hope being offered on behalf of the people of Haiti.
