On the Passing of Savitri

A few days ago I received an email from our India representative, Bhargava Kurapati, on the sad news that a woman named Savitri had passed away after a long fight with cancer. Last year we told you about Savitri. She came from a very poor Hindu family, and through our witness, gave her life to Christ.

Here's what Bhargava told us in his email:

"I received a call from Savitri's brother yesterday and he said that she passed away on 26th February at 4am. Before she died, she tried to convey some message but she could not speak. She pointed her finger to the bible and a Christian calendar which contains a scripture message and then smiled and passed away. She has 2 boys of age 14 and 9 years. Her husband and rest of the family members then removed all the idols and images of Hindu gods from their home, broke them put them in the trash, and most of them now realize that Jesus Christ is the real God."

We are sad at her passing, but are praising God for revealing Himself to Savitri and her family. Please continue to pray for her family that God would continue to encourage and strengthen their faith.
