Haiti Assessment Trip #3

Got same taxi as last night at 5.15am to take me to Quality Inn where I met the TNM team. Boarded bus and drove the 7 hours to UN base at Port-au-Prince airport.

Arrived Port-au-Prince and called around various contacts to get a ride to YWAM medical center near Presidential Palace. Met by local Haitian pastor. Invited to join them and accepted their offer to help me.

Delivered medical supplies to YWAM base – they were very glad to receive them, especially the tents and tarps. I was asked to keep tents and tarps out of sight – they’re apparently very sought after items amongst the IDP. Huge IDP gathering outside the Presidential Palace. Many people living under ‘tents’ made from cotton sheets and blankets. People living on street, trying to do whatever they can to survive.

Planning to deliver baby formula and remaining meds to orphanage tomorrow. Introduced to another Haitian, Pastor G who seems to be a key leader in Haiti – he oversees 700 other Haitian churches and is very well connected with other Haitian/non-Haitian organizations.

Called Larry Wayne at K-Love and did another short radio interview.
