CoAid and Hope Force International in Haiti
For Immediate Release
January 14th 2010
COAID IS PARTNERING WITH HOPE FORCE INTERNATIONAL IN HAITI
CoAid is pleased to announce that they are partnering with Hope Force International (www.hopeforce.org) to send immediate relief aid to Haiti.
CoAid and Hope Force International will be combining efforts to deliver wound and trauma supplies to the people of Haiti. An assesment team led by Jack Minton, President of Hope Force is expected to arrive in Haiti within the next few days.
The devastation in Haiti is beyond comprehension, and the pictures flooding our living rooms incapable of fully conveying the depth of suffering that has gripped that nation. Within a few short hours after the earthquake on 12th January, Hope Force International was in contact with various partners working in Haiti. The initial reports were sketchy, but have slowly begun to take shape as the seriousness of the situation continues to sink in. The situation in Port-au-Prince is very chaotic, and response teams face a daunting logistical challenge with communication and transportation.
CoAid and Hope Force International - committed to response, relief and recovery - are currently mobilizing to address both medical and non-medical needs. The level of need and ongoing chaos is challenging, but we are confident that a clear pathway of compassionate service will be forthcoming. We intend to be engaged in the ongoing relief and recovery efforts.
