Donor Response is Encouraging

Over the last 24 hours the response by our supporters to the CoAid India Flood Appeal has been very encouraging.

Last night I met with Luke Oravec, the CoAid treasurer to discuss how we plan to use the funds. We are confident we can get 2 volunteer teams into the field within days with enough supplies to sustain several hundred families. Off course, we always hope we could do more but we're limited by resources and capacity in the field.

Yesterday I also spoke with our India representative who has been organizing the 3 teams. He sent me a clear plan of action detailing what types of relief supplies they will be sending (mostly rice and blankets) but as always we need to constantly monitor and review the situation for needs.

A latest report from the BBC fears food shortages and outbreaks of disease. We're not out of the woods yet by any means. As more funds become available I suspect we will allocate some to medium-term projects such as replanting crops and rebuilding.

Thank you for your continued support.
