CoAid Helps Provide Shelter for 175 Families in Darbonne, Haiti

LITTLETON, CO, 29th July 2010 – Community Aid Relief and Development (CoAid), in association with Samaritans Purse and Promised Provision Ministries has started the construction of a transitional community in Darbonne, Haiti for victims of the recent earthquake.

Darbonne is located on the outskirts of Leogane which was at the epicenter of the January 12th 2010 earthquake where 80-90% of buildings were damaged.

Haiti Emergency Housing Appeal

In partnership with Samaritans Purse and Promised Provision Ministries, CoAid is helping provide temporary homes for up to 175 families in Darbonne, Haiti.

We have the opportunity to secure an ideal parcel of land for the construction of a community of 175 transitional shelters to be built by Samaritans Purse and Promised Provision. The land has trees for shade and has already been assessed as meeting the criteria for this type of construction. All that remains is to pay the landowner the agreed price of $2,000 for a 1-year lease.

Construction Engineer Needed to Join Team to Haiti

Six months to the day after a powerful 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti, CoAid is still committed to sending healing and restoration to the country.

Right now, we have need for a construction engineer with many years professional experience to join a CoAid needs assessment team to travel to Haiti sometime late August or early September. You must have specific experience with earthquake/hurricane proof construction using concrete.

CoAid Secures $10,000 Google Grant

LITTLETON, CO July 12th 2010 – Community Aid Relief and Development announced today they have been awarded a $10,000 advertising grant from Google to promote their projects amongst communities affected by war and natural disaster.

CoAid Relaunches Website; Leverages Social Media For Humanitarian Work

As the recent earthquakes in Haiti and Chile have demonstrated, proper disaster training is essential for NGOs, aid workers, mission groups and relief organizations.

As a relief and development organization, Community Aid Relief and Development (CoAid) is committed to responding to disasters in a manner that safeguards the lives of their staff and volunteers, as well as meeting the needs of disaster victims.
