Donate My Ride - Vehicle Donation Program
Car donations can help victims of conflict and natural disaster build a better future.
CoAid is at work around the world helping to restore shattered lives by offering hand-ups, not hand-outs. By donating your unwanted vehicle to CoAid's "Donate My Ride" vehicle donation program, you will help communities recover from conflict and natural disaster.
It's quick and easy to recycle your used cars, trucks, boats, RVs, motorcycles, construction equipment or other vehicles — running or not! Plus, you may be eligible for a tax deduction if you itemize (consult the IRS or your tax advisor for details).
Please donate your unwanted vehicle to CoAid's official car donation program.
You can Donate Your Vehicle Online or call 1-877-999-8322 to make your donation.

- What are the benefits of donating my vehicle to CoAid? It's simple, fun, and free. Our vehicle broker (a company called V-DAC) converts the car into cash, which becomes a welcome donation to CoAid. You are entitled to a tax deduction, and you avoid the cost and hassle of repairing or selling a vehicle you no longer want.
- Do you accept all vehicles? Yes. We strive to accept any vehicle, anywhere, running or not - cars, trucks, motorcycles, RV's, boats, airplanes, heavy equipment, farm machinery, etc. No smog certificate is necessary, and our broker can solve almost all title issues. Your vehicle will be picked-up anywhere in USA. The only exception accepting a vehicle is where the transportation costs may be higher than the vehicle value.
- What if I have title issues? If you don't have a title certificate, can't find it, or have problems with your title, call the number below. The Call Center staff deals with DMV's across the country every day and is expert is solving these matters. Call 1-877-999-8322
- Is there any cost? No. There is no cost to the donor or to the charity. All expenses are deducted from the gross sales price and, if the costs ever exceed the price, the company that operates the Program covers those costs.
- How much work is it for me? It's easy to donate a vehicle. Either enter the vehicle and pick-up details online or call 1-877-999-8322 and give the details to our brokers' trained service center staff. You'll need to fill out a few forms (have the Vehicle Identification Number at hand), and mail-in the paperwork, including the vehicle title in states requiring one. You'll receive a call from an authorized tow service to arrange a convenient time and location for the pick-up. You do not need to be there.
- How long until my vehicle is picked-up? Our broker will arrange a pick-up for a newer car right away. Older cars are picked-up within a few days of receiving the paperwork you mail in. You will receive a call from an authorized tow service to arrange a convenient time. You do not need to be there. Need to arrange a special pick-up? Call 1-866-789-8627 and let them know.
- How long before CoAid gets the money? It usually takes 45-60 days from the time the vehicle is picked up until the car is sold and the transaction is completed. Once the transaction is completed, the net cash proceeds are usually delivered to CoAid within two weeks.
- What will happen to my car? Your car is assessed to determine the used car market that will yield the best sale price, joining some forty-three million other cars re-sold each year. Most vehicles are sold through wholesale auctions; older, damaged and problem vehicles are often sold directly to dismantlers or recyclers for valuable parts and metals. Because our broker works with a very large national network of auction yards, they match your vehicle to the appropriate buyer. Recently, for example, a donor's 1972 Porsche 911 to a premium car auction, where it netted five figures. Meantime, another donor's beat up 1991 GMC Jimmy sold for $200 at a dismantler.
- Will I receive a tax deduction? You are entitled to deduct the sales price of your vehicle. If it sells for less than $500, you can deduct the "fair market value" of the vehicle, up to $499. You benefit from being able to reduce your taxable income when taxes are itemized. Our broker will provide you with the sales receipt or IRS Form 1098-C you will need for tax reporting.
- How much money goes to CoAid? The V-DAC program strives to give a high net return to non-profits. Once the vehicle is sold, the actual costs of towing, auction and title processing is deducted. From this Net Sales Proceeds, CoAid received between 70% and 80% of this amount depending on the value of the vehicle. Higher value vehicles provide more to CoAid. The long term average to CoAid is a return of approximately 78% of the net sales proceeds.
- Who is V-DAC? Vehicle Donation to Any Charity, LLC ("V-DAC") is a Fund Raising Counsel, registered with the State of California Office of the Attorney General. It provides the vehicle donation programs that allow donors to give to any charity, church or school in the country. V-DAC is known for delivering high net revenue to recipient non-profits around the country.
